ADVENTURES IN TECHNOLOGY, APRIL 15-20, 2018, SASKATOON
Adventures in Technology is a comprehensive, carefully planned four and one-half day event that allows Western Canadian Grade 11 and 12 students to explore advanced technology, research, development and applications. The experience enhances each participant's awareness and understanding of technology, the many ways it affects our lives, and the opportunities it holds for tomorrow.
Saskatoon has been a leader in applying various modes of technology for decades. The University of Saskatoon has been the incubator and Innovation Place is a natural extension of this. The Rotary Clubs of Saskatoon jointly organise and host approximately 30 students from across Western Canada, including Manitoba and northern Ontario. The AIT program is held during the last week in April. The students are billeted with Rotarians.
During their visit, students tour an exciting array of some of Canada's finest corporations and research facilities such as the University of Saskatchewan, Areva Resources Ltd, Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan, and the Canadian Light Source. These organisations offer tours, provide hands-on opportunities and informative lectures.
Students are also treated to the best in Saskatchewan hospitality. A varied social program promotes building friendships, goodwill and exercising leadership skills.
