Erin Sonne is a talented grade 12 student at Bassano School. She was nominated by her teacher, Mrs. Follis, because, “of the delicate realism that she incorporates into her art. Her colour work is soft and harmonious, and the details she adds brings the viewer into the piece.”
Erin enjoys experimenting with different mediums. Her portfolio consists of a variety of pieces ranging from highly contrasted acrylics and inks, to soft, subtle watercolors. The watercolors particularly stand out due to Erin’s mastery of color blending and creating natural transitions that give her work a strong sense of realism.
Her artistic endeavors have been largely self-motivated, but also influenced and encouraged by her teachers and family. She is currently completing her art class through correspondence, which takes an immense amount of discipline and personal motivation. Ering plans continue with art as a hobby in the future, as she finds is relaxing and rewarding.
Artist’s Quote: “Put down on paper everything that you feel - and express the images you image in your head.”
